The Candy-Striper Program at MCH accepted as many as 25 such students every summer to volunteer at the hospital. This ad may be several years old, but Lila Lassiter still works at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Her duties today now include overseeing the adult volunteer program, and she is the assistant to Chief Operating Officer Ed Heath. Above: One of the biggest changes in 1983, especially for patients, was the introduction of new patient rooms. In 1983, Muhlenberg Community Hospital opened a new front wing. The hospital also got a new sign and a beautiful courtyard space.
